Original Jeet Kune Do for those of you who dont know, is the martial art system of Bruce Lee. There has been much incorrect information and misconception about the art of Lee over the years since his untimely death in 1973. Some say Jeet Kune Do is not a style but more of a philosophy of fighting. Others say it is a distinct style or system with a complete outline of actual techniques. So who is right?

After Lee’s death the art pretty much was taught by Dan Inosanto a Filipino of heritage who brought forth his base art of Escrima to the forefront and added some moves of Jeet Kune Do and taught it as such. The art as taught by Guro Inosanto is and was known at Jeet Kune Do Concepts. The art as Bruce Lee taught it is known as Original Jeet Kune Do.

JKD or Jeet Kune Do is the only non-classical Gung Fu system in existence today. It was born from Lee's idea to take the best of Wing Chun Kung Fu, American Boxing , French Fencing and Grappling to bring them together as the ultimate combat art, from the ultimate combat artist. We offer the finest in original Jeet Kune Do training and materials available anywhere. We do not deal in politics of any kind and do not tolerate those that do.

The World Jeet Kune Do Federation, the largest and oldest international organization was founded to offer the original art as it was near being extinct from the public view. World Jkd is focused on original techniques as taught by Lee, combat modified Gung Fu with grappling and does not teach any concepts. The first original phase of JKD was Wing Chun. The second phase was combat modified Gung Fu. The third phase was grappling. This is the original JKD, not concepts. This is not to say one is better than the other, only that we deal with JKD core teachings that Bruce Lee taught, not techniques that he could have or should have. Our training materials are not available anywhere else but here. With the World Jeet Kune Do Federation you get REAL JKD, just as it was taught at one of Lee's famous schools.

The Original Jeet Kune Do can now be seen in its entirety taught by Carter Hargrave the director of the World Jeet Kune Do Federation.
